Greenhouse Reconstruction at Baby Greens farm

The two layers unfurling into one. They will unfold once attached to the structure of the greenhouse.

Here the cover has made it most of the way along the ridge of the greenhouse. Amie holding the edge down to make sure the wind doesn’t come along and turn the cover into a giant sail.

Midway down Jeffery had to tie a line around the cover. So it wouldn’t begin to unfurl until we had it attached.

Jeffery going along the vent edge connecting the plastic cover to the greenhouse. As you can see the cover has been unfurled and dropped down across the entire greenhouse. Success!

It was a tough couple weeks at the farm. The heavy wind storm the other week tore the cover off one of our green houses. Just a small tear can turn into a giant rip. With winds that intense the cover of the greenhouse stood no chance of  survival. Now fully exposed the specialty greens were left with no protection at all. Leaving that entire greenhouse and new seedlings vulnerable to the elements. This was a very stressful time. Waiting for the new covers to arrive. Then to set up a day where we could all come together, with as little wind as possible. Luckily the weather cooperated. We suffered no losses. The day was sunny and clear. Not too much wind. And just enough helping hands were there to gar the job done. Here are some shots of the tricky reconstruction this past Sunday. Thank you to all of those who helped.
